A FACE ONLY A MOTHER COULD LOVE by Robert Gaudette
This is the story of Marcel Dupont, a man whose face only a mother could love - and whose mother told him every morning for thirty-eight years that he was beautiful. Marcel moves through Paris with complete confidence. The world moves away from him. He does not notice. Every evening he dances alone in his apartment, one hand raised for a partner who is not there. He has been practicing for years. On one particular Halloween, a woman sits down beside him in the park. She does not leave. She has, in fact, been watching him for years - from a distance, from the street outside his window, from the dark. She listened to him dance alone and never rang the bell. This is a film about two lonely people, one extraordinary act of courage, and an accordion player in a Paris park who played exactly the right song at exactly the right moment.
