1984: GEORGE ORWELL’S LAST MAN

“1984: George Orwell’s Last Man” is a short film tribute to the book, “1984,” made by the award-winning filmmaker, T.M. Caufield. Written/adapted for the screen after consulting George Orwell’s original manuscript for “1984” – (as well as decades of his books, essays, articles, reviews, and influences) – Caufield transports viewers to the age of Big Brother, Thoughtcrime, and Doublethink. And in cinematically following “The Last Man in Europe,” as Orwell originally titled his revolutionary book, audiences slowly enter protagonist Winston Smith’s walking nightmare as he tells both “the future or the past” what life is like in 1984. *Note: This “1984” tribute contains some elements depicted in the book that may not be suitable for young children. Viewer discretion is advised. Tribute released on the 76th anniversary weekend for the UK publication of George Orwell’s book, “1984.” And for fun, see if you can spot the “Animal Farm” reference!
