E02: Song of the Summer

Reid and Linus try to make the perfect Summer song about having fun in the sun, so they invite a number of people over to Linus’ house so Linus can analyze why people have fun during an epic summer pool party. Reid realizes he can invite his ex, so he agrees to this, even though he thinks summer songs are stupid. During the party Linus keeps dryly insisting he’s having a great time, pointing out the various fun things they are doing, and how this will make the perfect summer party song, but then has actual fun when he sees some people playing Settlers of Catan on a floaty in the pool. Reid sees his ex play chicken with another man and gets insanely jealous, jumping on Linus shoulders to try to play too, only to realize that she’s hanging out with her cousin. In the end the summer song they create has lyrics all about jealousy, heartbreak and Settlers of Catan specifics.
