What Is Going On With Marvel Rivals?

Marvel Rivals second half of Season 1 is set to launch later this week, but seemingly out of nowhere NetEase has laid off an entire Marvel Rivals development team. Game director Thaddeus Sasser confirmed he was part of the layoff for an entire Seattle based division that was let go. The team which according to Sasser worked on game and level design for Marvel Rivals did not give a reason for the layoffs. Should we suddenly be worried about the future of Marvel Rivals?
