Ubisoft Plans Big Changes to Far Cry

Ubisoft is making big changes to the Far Cry series, which currently has two games in development. Blackbird is the next mainline title in the series, and Maverick is a planned extraction based shooter. Both games will be set in the new Far Cry engine that Ubisoft Montreal has been working on, and both games are currently set to release in 2026. Maverick will be set in the Alaskan Wilderness as players fight each other, animals and more trying to escape, while Blackbird gives the players 24 real-life hours to rescue the protagonist's family.
