I Survived a Monster.
On Christmas Eve 1999, Alexander Kramer, a 15-year-old boy, experiences a horrific tragedy that changes his life forever. Set in the warmth of a family gathering by the fireplace, the seemingly idyllic evening is shattered when a mysterious figure wearing a Krampus mask violently intrudes, murdering Alexander’s parents with an axe. The figure spares Alexander, chillingly declaring, “You’re a good boy. You’ll survive.” Years later, Alexander recounts his traumatic story in a True Crime documentary-style interview. While he initially believed Krampus to be a mere myth meant to frighten children into good behavior, the events of that night revealed a much darker truth. The masked intruder, later identified as a roaming maniac, was never caught, leaving the legend of Krampus hauntingly alive in Alexander's mind. As Alexander revisits his past, he warns the audience: "Krampus might visit you tonight. Be good." This short film explores themes of trauma, folklore, and the enduring fear of the unknown, leaving viewers questioning the blurred lines between legend and reality.
