Future Scenes From A Mall by Chien-hua Soang

Across one day in an abundant near future, a chain of strangers travels toward and through THE MALL, where intelligent transportation, robotic companions, predictive matchmaking, personalized entertainment and attentive machines have eliminated much of life’s friction. But after nightfall, two visitors discover a nearly forgotten movie theater where the story does not adapt to anyone. Its imperfections suggest that uncertainty, disappointment and a shared experience may still have value in a world designed to give everyone exactly what they want.
