We are Wooden Hook Studios, a small, independent publishing and digital media imprint in the heart of the Missouri Ozarks. We started in early in 2024 and are currently producers of media (books, images, shorts, movies) and video games. Our entire focus is family friendly entertainment with a Christian focused worldview and traditional morality. To that end, our heroes are heroes and our villains are villains. Our goal is to seek to engage the reader in the drama of human existence and ask “the big questions.” Our work is not geared toward an exclusively Christian audience, but our heroes maintain a level of Christian morality and virtue associated with Christian tradition. We seek to educate, rather than preach, and we welcome readers of all faiths and creeds to explore our works. Readers of classical works and well read historians will find rhymes and parallels in our works. We don’t focus on the overly sexual (although there are hints and innuendo—left for the reader to imagine), violence is tied to the story conflict (never gratuitous), and our romantic leads are heterosexual. We aim to write for the most general socially conservative audience and want our media to be consumed by young readers who are looking for adventure, excitement, and finding answers to questions that have been asked throughout the ages. We want parents and children to be able to view or consume our work and be equally entertained and challenged to think deeply about life and our place in it.
