Kennedy Hill (4k)

When you feel stuck, remember that being uncomfortable is where growth begins. Sometimes you have to get lost to find your way. I left everything behind for the vast Montana wilderness - not running away, but running towards something greater. These endless skies and towering peaks had a way of putting life's challenges into perspective. Each morning, I make my way up Kennedy Hill in the pre-dawn stillness. My footsteps crunch softly on the narrow trail as I climb. Today, like every day since coming to the ranch, I settle into my spot overlooking the Centennial Valley. I sit cross-legged on the earth and arrange myself facing east. Before me, the landscape unfolds like a living painting – the Red Rock River below shrouded in morning fog, the cabins mere specks in the vastness, and the snow-capped mountain standing sentinel over it all. I close my eyes and take my first deep breath. The mountain air fills my lungs, crisp and pure, reminding me that even in this body that's betraying me, I can still feel vitally alive. With each exhale, I release a small portion of the fear that's been my constant companion since hearing those devastating words: terminal cancer. Your breakthrough isn't in your comfort zone. It's in those moments when you dare to step into the unknown, when you choose to trust that the path will reveal itself - just like a mountain trail emerging through the morning mist.
